About This Spot

Stepping into L’Amista is like discovering a hidden nook where time slows down just enough to savor the moment. Nestled on a quiet side street in Avignon, this intimate restaurant invites you to shed the rush of the day and settle into a warm, unhurried rhythm. The soft hum of quiet conversations mingles with gentle clinks of glass, creating an ambiance that feels both familiar and quietly special.

The pace here mirrors the careful attention poured into the kitchen — thoughtful, deliberate, and sincere. L’Amista is a cozy spot where each shared plate carries a sense of place and storytelling, inviting you to explore flavors that hint at Spanish roots while reflecting a hand-picked selection of local influences. There's a genuine joy in the smallness of the menu, each dish crafted to encourage sharing and connection, perfect for those who delight in communal dining or a relaxed afternoon meal.

Whether you're seated inside, enjoying the soft lighting and modest yet comfortable décor, or outside watching the gentle flow of the neighborhood life, the atmosphere supports a genuine connection — between guest and chef, friends old and new, and the city itself. The experience remains quietly memorable thanks to the careful curation of flavors and the welcoming ease that makes visitors feel more like guests than customers.

For those who appreciate discovering places where details matter and moments linger—a spot where spirited conversation and thoughtfully composed bites go hand in hand—L’Amista offers a gentle invitation. It’s the kind of place you might find yourself returning to, not just for the food, but for the quietly joyful experience of belonging.

Solid experience and fairly priced. Very tasty tapas. The wine is reasonably priced. The food seems tailored and cared to show a specific Spanish style. I recommend it and will probably come back.

What an incredible lunch. I stopped at a local grocery store to buy some candy and behind me was is the coolest looking chef in a pink toque Next we walked down a side street and saw this charming restaurant. After looking at the creativity of the menu, we knew we wanted to eat there. And how’s this for Kismet, the chef that was behind me in the store turned out to be the Co-owner & Chef. Everything from the Pumpkin Fritters, mushroom soup with toasted walnuts, burger with blue cheese sauce & the best most buttery crisp potatoes in Avignon was delicious

Lovely little tapas restaurant. A small but well selected menu; we shared one of the platters and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely position on a side street where you can watch the world go by.

This was a great little spot. We got olive tapenade as a starter and then pasta ravioli and a cheese dish for the main course. It was on a quiet street and only a few other people were at dinner so it was like we had the place to ourselves! We would definitely go back here again.

Great service. English spoken if needed. Great food. Away from the main squares. You'll be dining well, sidewalk-style when it's nice weather, and treated like a local. Had eggs mimosa (aka deviled eggs), and burrata salads. Loved it all. Yum!

Delightful little tapas bar I stumbled across for a quick bite and drink. Great music wafts over you as you eat some seriously good tapas at a reasonable price. Felt seriously relaxed after a morning and early afternoon of running about. I'll be back if I can fit it into the rest of my trip.
